Blessings Abound

Today was a normal day. Up at seven and school from eight until noon. I practiced piano and watched Olivia and Colton for Mom and Christi while they tried to save our thirty-six frostbitten tomato plants. We have only canned two batches of sauce this fall. Grandma saved the day when she called to tell mom she had a bounty of tomatoes for us to bring home Sunday. Today, like every other day, I experienced the blessings generally taken for granted in our beautiful America. A good education, food and a roof over my head. I was disappointed though, because Joel will not be able to be at my family party. He has a Men's Retreat to attend this weekend. I call it a party bacause when all of us Pratts and Hofmans get together, it is a party. Christi's friend has extra tickets to the County Fair and the Hofmans (Except Olivia. She will be with me) plan to go Saturday. Mom wants to go on Friday, but I don't really care to go. Lizzy has already gone and has to work. A trip like that is to be shared with friends.(In other words: Lizzy) I did not go to church tonight because True North was going to See You at the Pole Rally. I am the oldest highschooler in True North, and this year all the Jr. High girls will be joining us. Talk about gaggles of giggling girlies! *long sigh* I don't have any friends to hang with, so I content myself with helping others and being nice to the newcomers. I am the only one to volunteer for anything; praying, helping with worship, and most games. I wish these kids (ha ha) would grow up!! I guess I must have been like that when I entered T.N. and in truth I still am a kid. This is hopefully building patience in me. :) Well, here is the last post I write as a Sweet Sixteen year old. I love you guys! Thanks for caring! Joyanna

Unfortunately, life is full of silly girls. But like you said, they're young and they're just having fun. I know you're going to be a great leader at True North!

3 hours and 15 minutes until your birthday!!! :D

Ahhh, you guys are awesome. You make me feel so loved.
Lizzy kept popping up with new surprises and went crazy with post-it stickers all over the house. She bought me a bouqe of carnations and a single rose. Later Skittles and Combos apeared. She would keep looking at me funny and when I'd ask what she wanted she'd reply sapily, "I love you!"
Mia, you're mom said you are coming home tomorrow night. Do you want to hang out here at my crazy house for a bit? We are planning a 'party' tomorrow after the Fair trip.
Thank you, Spinky.

Ha, sweet....that's funny.

"JUST KIDDING"

Anyway, it was great talking to you the other day, you gave me the encouragement needed to go to work last night, You would not believe how hard my job is.

Anyway, your progress and attitude make me happy, but I must go, class starts in 3 minutes.

Have fun at the fair! I hope I can come over tonight, but I doubt it. Mom probably won't get up here till sometime after 7pm. No worries, I'll come see you before you leave. :)
